Introduction

Join us for a six-month online exploration beginning in May, 2007 and culminating in a weekend retreat Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday, November 16, 17, and 18, 2007.

During the study, you will be a member of a circle of nine (one of each enneagram type) and a point group of at least three people of your own type. You will exchange responses to a series of questions designed to help you recognize revelations of the sacred in your life and the ways that the experiences of your life have opened you to your own Virtue and Holy Idea. You'll
  • Reflect on your own journey
  • Develop a spiritual memoir of your evolution toward your own essential nature
  • Articulate your understanding of the Virtue and Holy Idea of your enneagram type
  • Recognize instances of your own vice-to-virtue and fixation-to-holy idea conversion(s)
  • Articulate your method(s) for switching from habit to essential nature
  • Share practices that have opened you to yourVirtue and Holy Idea
During the retreat, we will engage in narratives in which people of each enneagram type share their discoveries and learnings. We'll use music and poetry to illustrate the journey of each enneagram type. We'll explore the differences between operating from habit and opening to essence. We'll look at the subtle ways in which old habits have reappeared. We'll discover the illusions that we must relinquish in order to move toward our essential nature.
